Digital Tracking Consent
Optional permission for the class app to record your child's in-class activity and for us to email you class recaps.
Purpose
The Rainbow DJ Lab runs a class app at /dj-lab/live/. During class it can record what your child does, such as the Passport stamps they earn and their "Next time I'll…" notes, so kids and families can see progress. After class, we can email you a short recap. Both are optional, and the default is no.
Fill it out online: part of full registration, which opens only after every launch-checklist item is complete. Until then the online form is an interest list that doesn't ask for this. Printable version (for full registration after launch): digital-tracking-consent.pdf

Who can see it
- You, through your private family link. When your child is approved for a class, we email you a private link that shows only your own child: their station and job, self-ratings, "Next time I'll…", Mix Log, Passport, the coach's glow note for your child, and coach messages. It never shows other children. If the link is lost or shared, the coach re-issues it.
- In-room Kid/Station screens. These use a room code the coach issues for each class. The code expires (after 4 hours by default) and the coach can end it any time, so it stops working when the class ends. These screens show the station board for that class: each child's first name and last initial, station, job, check-in time and in-class activity. They never show glow notes or private data.
- Coaches, who see the whole class.
Your guardian contact details, emergency contacts, medical notes, pickup list and consents are never shown on a family link or an in-room screen. Those are coaches only.
If you say no
The app enforces your choice: without this consent, none of your child's in-class app activity is saved. Your child tells the coach their answers instead. Your child still takes full part in every activity, earns Passport stamps, and gets the same coaching. Saying no never affects your child's place.

Digital Tracking Consent: Rainbow DJ Lab, Ras Tafari Inc.
I am the parent or legal guardian of the child named on this registration.
In-class app activity. By checking this box, I consent to Ras Tafari Inc. recording my child's first name and last initial, station, check-in time, and in-class activity (prediction, challenge level, self-rating, "Next time I'll…" line, "Data!" count and Mix Log), plus Passport stamps and coach notes, in the Rainbow DJ Lab class app. I understand that my child's first name and last initial, station, job, check-in time and in-class activity appear on the in-room station board during class (on screens opened with the coach's expiring room code), and that my private family link shows only my own child.
Recap emails. By checking this box, I ask Ras Tafari Inc. to email me a short recap after each class at the email address on my registration.
I understand that: 1. For children under 13, this is my verifiable parental consent under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The Lab collects only the limited information described above. 2. Ras Tafari Inc. stores this information with its service providers: Supabase (database), Resend (email), and GitHub Pages (website hosting). It does not sell or share my child's information, show ads, use tracking pixels, collect biometrics, or track location. 3. Child activity data is deleted within 90 days after the season ends, unless I ask Ras Tafari Inc. to keep my child's Passport. 4. If there's a data breach affecting my information, I'll be notified without unreasonable delay, as required by the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (815 ILCS 530). 5. I may review, correct or delete my child's information, or withdraw this consent at any time, by contacting Stephen Henry (872-255-9333, stephen@selassiefest.com). Withdrawing will not affect my child's participation.
How long it's kept
- Activity data: deleted within 90 days after the season ends, unless you ask us to keep the Passport.
- Your consent record: kept with the registration record for 3 years, then deleted.
