Rules for me
A few easy rules that keep the Rainbow DJ Lab fun and safe for everyone.
Our five rules
1. Be kind
Cheer for every DJ. When someone plays, give them a glow. That's one thing they did well.
2. Take turns
Your team shares one controller. Everyone gets a turn at every job: DJ, Co-pilot, Hype and Logger.
3. Take care of the gear
Gentle hands on the controller. No food or drinks near the decks. Help put the gear away at the end.
4. Protect your ears
Keep your headphones at the safe volume. Stay out of the spot right in front of the big speakers. Want earplugs? Just ask. They're free.
5. Stay where a grown-up can see you
Don't go off on your own. Need the bathroom? Take a buddy, and tell a coach. (See Bathroom and buddy.)
Two more things
- Clean words only. We use clean versions of songs.
- Mistakes are OK. When a mix crashes, say "Data!" and try again. (See What "Data!" means.)
What if someone forgets a rule?
Everybody forgets sometimes. Here's what happens:
- A coach gives you a reminder.
- If you need it, the coach helps you switch to something else.
- If you need a break, you can sit in a calm spot, where a grown-up can see you.
- Sometimes a coach calls your grown-up at home.
Nobody will hit you, yell mean things at you, or make fun of you. And you can always get water and go to the bathroom.
