Equipment use: donated DJ gear and Q-Ality Sound
Who owns, stores, insures and may use the Rainbow DJ Lab's donated DJ gear, and how it connects to Q-Ality Sound's system.
Status: Draft for board approval, as part of the Q-Ality Sound vendor and equipment agreement (section 5).
Who owns the gear
The Lab's DJ controllers and related gear were donated to Ras Tafari Inc. They're a charitable asset, used only for Ras Tafari Inc. programs unless the board approves otherwise in writing. They're listed on an inventory that's reconciled at least once a year.
How it connects
During sessions the gear plugs into Q-Ality Sound's system. That's a technical connection only: it doesn't give Q-Ality ownership, control or any right to the gear.
Storage
Ras Tafari Inc. transports and stores the gear, between sessions and on program days. Q-Ality has no key, code or access to the storage outside program hours.
What Q-Ality may not do with it
Q-Ality may not use the gear at other events, for other clients, for its own promotion, recording or testing, or off the Lab site.
Damage, loss and insurance
- Q-Ality reports any damage or loss within 24 hours.
- Q-Ality's insurance covers the gear while it's on Q-Ality's system or in its possession.
- Ras Tafari Inc. insures the gear otherwise. That coverage is a launch requirement and isn't in place yet.
- If the agreement ends, any gear Q-Ality holds is returned, inventoried and signed for.
What families should know
- Children use the same well-kept, inventoried gear every session.
- Headphone volume is capped, and the Lab's safety lead controls the main-speaker volume. See hearing safety.
