SelassieFest was born in 1981 and grew for fifteen summers. After 1996, it went quiet for thirty years. Now it's back — and the partners who stand with us in the comeback will hold a title no one else can ever claim.
Become a Founding PartnerSelassieFest begins on the South Side of Chicago, celebrating Rastafari culture, Caribbean heritage, and community.
The festival grows into a fixture — music, food, elders, and children in the same yard, every year.
Three decades pass. The community remembers. Our living heritage archive keeps the story.
SelassieFest comes back. Whoever stands with us in the comeback stands in the founding photograph of everything that follows.
Founding Partner is granted once and held forever. Partners who support the return of SelassieFest — with products, services, or marketing partnership — carry the title permanently: on this page, at the festival, and in every telling of the story from here forward. It cannot be bought later. It can only be earned now.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and we build partnerships in-kind — products, services, and reach, matched to what your organization does best. Every partnership is designed together.
