First Aid & CPR Roster
The Rainbow DJ Lab's requirement for pediatric first aid/CPR/AED certification and what the public roster will show once staff are cleared.
Status: roster is empty
No one is listed yet, because no one is hired yet. The Rainbow DJ Lab is proposed. This page explains the requirement and what will be posted. The roster stays empty until each adult has passed screening and their certification has been checked.
Having pediatric first aid/CPR/AED certification for at least one adult per class is item 5 on the launch checklist. No class runs until every item is checked.
These are policies Ras Tafari Inc. commits to; formal board adoption is a launch requirement.
The requirement
- At least one adult in every class holds current pediatric first aid/CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
- "Pediatric" matters: the course must cover children and infants, not only adults.
- If the certified adult is absent, that class doesn't run unless another certified adult is present.
- That adult is also the "trained adult" who carries rescue medicine for children with plans. See Epinephrine Protocol.
- Every adult on the roster has also completed the Lab's screening. See Staff Screening and Mandated Reporter Training.
How a certification is checked
- The adult gives the Lab a copy of their certificate (or digital certificate).
- Stephen Henry checks it against the issuing body's online certificate lookup, where available, and confirms the course type and expiry date.
- A copy is kept on file.
- The roster is updated. Sixty days before a certification expires, the adult is reminded to renew. An expired certification doesn't count.
What will be posted
The roster will list roles and certifications. It will not list home addresses, phone numbers or certificate ID numbers.
| Role | Certification type | Issuing body | Expires | Classes covered |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| (empty until staff are cleared) |
Example of the format only. This is not a real person or entry: "Lead Coach, Junior DJs | Pediatric First Aid CPR AED | American Red Cross | MM/YYYY | Wednesday Junior DJs."
What you'll be told
- Before your child's first class: which adult in your child's class holds the certification.
- If coverage changes for a session (for example, a substitute): at sign-in.
