Your Data Rights
How parents and guardians can see, correct or delete their family's information, or withdraw consent, and how quickly Rainbow DJ Lab responds.
Your rights
As the parent or guardian, you can at any time:
| Right | What it means |
|---|---|
| See it | Get a copy of everything the Lab holds about your child and your family |
| Correct it | Fix anything that's wrong or out of date: a phone number, an allergy, your pickup list |
| Delete it | Have your child's information deleted |
| Withdraw consent | Stop any further collection from your child. This ends your child's use of the class app |
| Opt out of emails | Stop session recaps (and the planned weekly digest) any time |
| Keep the Passport | Get a copy of your child's Passport to keep |
There's no cost, and you don't have to give a reason.
Status: The Lab is proposed and not running yet. These policies were adopted by the Ras Tafari Inc. board on October 17, 2026.
How to make a request
Contact Stephen Henry, President, Ras Tafari Inc.:
- Email: stephen@selassiefest.com (best, because it gives us both a written record)
- Phone: 872-255-9333
- Mail: Ras Tafari Inc., 1401 E. 71st St., Chicago, IL 60619
- In person at a session
Tell us your name, your child's first name, the class, and what you'd like.
We'll confirm it's you
Before we share or delete anything, we'll make sure the request really comes from the child's parent or guardian. Usually this means replying from the email address on your registration, or showing photo ID at a session. We do this to protect your child, not to slow you down.
How fast we respond
Within 10 business days. If we need more time for a reason we can't avoid, we'll tell you why within those 10 days and give you a date.
Urgent changes, especially to the authorized-pickup list or medical information, are made before your child's next session. Please email them before the session; we can't add a new pickup adult by phone at the door.
What happens when you ask
To see your information
We send you everything we hold about your child and your family: registration details, class-board entries, Passport stamps, coach notes and sign-out records.
To delete your information
- We remove your child from the class roster and the in-room station board, and delete their activity data.
- Some registration and safety records (such as the sign-out log and any incident report) may need to be kept for safety, insurance or legal reasons. We'll tell you exactly what we're keeping, why and until when, and we'll delete it after that. See retention and deletion.
To withdraw consent
- We stop collecting anything from your child in the app right away.
- Your child can no longer take part through the class app, which is part of how the class runs. Talk to us. We'd rather find a way that works for your family.
- You choose whether we delete what was already collected or keep the Passport.
