Executive Leadership Team
The Executive Leadership Team implements the strategic vision set by the Board of Directors and manages the dayβtoβday operations of Selassiefest. These three roles work collaboratively to ensure the festival's success, financial health, and community impact.
π― Executive Director / CEO
Reports to: Board of Directors
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads strategic planning and execution of the festival's mission.
- Hires and supervises all staff (fullβtime, seasonal, and volunteer leads).
- Manages organizational budget, fundraising, and financial sustainability.
- Serves as primary spokesperson and cultivates donor/sponsor relationships.
- Ensures legal compliance (tax filings, permits, insurance).

π Artistic Director / Curator
Reports to: Executive Director
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and curates all festival programming (music, speakers, workshops, cultural exhibits).
- Manages talent booking, artist relations, and performance schedules.
- Collaborates with community partners to ensure authentic cultural representation.
- Oversees stage design, sound, lighting, and overall attendee experience.
- Works with Marketing to promote the artistic vision.
Fullβtime or seasonal (6β9 months)
π Managing Director
Reports to: Executive Director
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees operations, human resources, and administrative systems.
- Manages vendor relations, logistics, facilities, and safety protocols.
- Supervises finance, IT, and volunteer coordination teams.
- Negotiates contracts (venues, equipment, services).
- Ensures operational efficiency and risk management.
