Discarded burlap crocus sacks (originally used for transporting coffee beans, sugar, or flour).

How It's Played

A high-energy jumping race. Competitors step inside large, heavy crocus bags (burlap sacks) that reach up to their waists, holding the edges up with their hands. At the signal, they must hop forward like rabbits toward the finish line. Falling over is common, making it a highly entertaining spectator event.

Cultural Roots

Utilized the heavy-duty packaging material of Jamaica's agricultural industries, turning industrial waste into a test of leg strength and endurance.
