A sophisticated homemade acoustic instrument.
A sophisticated homemade acoustic instrument. A segment of green bamboo is hollowed out, leaving one joint intact to form a chamber. A small fipple mouthpiece is carved at the top. A wooden plunger wrapped in oiled cloth is inserted from the bottom. Pouring a small amount of water inside changes the acoustic resonance, allowing the player to produce beautiful, bird-like warbling slide notes.
