Blessings and one love. As a host and performer at SelassieFest 2026 — Chicago’s premiere Ethiopian & Jamaican roots culture festival — I’m reaching out to invite you to be part of something special.
On July 25th, 12 performing artists plus selectors, elders and community members will gather on the South Side for a full day of Nyabinghi drumming, conscious dancehall, sound clashes, Ital food and deep Pan-African celebration. Backstage, we’re building a dedicated Artist Green Room Tent — a space where performers can chill, commune and recharge between sets. And we want to fill it with the authentic flavors of home.

What We’re Asking
We would love your help stocking the Artist Green Room Tent with fresh, authentic Jamaican fuel. A sponsorship of patties, jerk cuisine, beverages and baked goods keeps our artists energized and rooted.
Fresh Patties
Beef, cheese & beef, curry chicken, jerk chicken, mixed vegetable, spinach — baked or frozen, large or cocktail size
Jerk Cuisine
Jerk chicken or pork — with bread, or as a dinner with rice & peas and plantain. Catering pans also available (5lb or 10lb).
Jamaican Drinks
Ting, Ginger Beer, Kola Champagne, Pineapple Soda, Tropical Rhythms juices, coconut water, Milo, Nutriment, malt beverage
Baked Goods
Hardough bread, bulla, totoes (cakes), assorted pastries, coco bread, ginger bread, bread pudding
Even a dozen patties or a case of sodas would be a massive help. Every bit counts.
